Dishwashers using hard water will very quickly develop lime scale. The lime scale is most often seen as an unsightly grey-white layer over the machines internal surfaces and pipework. The scale causes three major problems:
- Increases energy cost in heating water. This is because the biggest quantity of scale develops around the heaters. The scale formed is a very efficient insulator and increases energy used to heat wash water.
- Scale also builds up on cups and other ware. The scale on the ware is not readily visible, but its porous surface absorbs stains making items very difficult to clean.
- Scale deposits block jets and other mechanical parts of the dishwashing machine thereby reducing efficiency of the dishwasher.
Machine WWD with its inbuilt hard water control properties, eliminates all the above problems – producing results as good as if softened water was used.
